A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE PATRICIA MILLER FOR HER DEDICATED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

WHEREAS, Representative Patricia Miller has been a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives since being elected in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Representative Miller has ably and effectively represented the citizens of House District 25, which includes parts of Coahoma, DeSoto and Tunica Counties, for the past seven years; and

WHEREAS, Representative Miller, Vice Chairman of the Apportionment and Elections Committee, serves on the House Local and Private Legislation Committee, the Municipalities Committee, the Penitentiary Committee, the Public Health and Welfare Committee and serves on the Joint Legislative Committees on Congressional Redistricting and Legislative Reapportionment; and

WHEREAS, during her legislative career, Representative Miller has been a strong advocate of public education, human rights and the well-being of and positive environment for the children of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Representative Miller has been lovingly supported in all her endeavors by her faithful husband, Robert, and their children, Kelly King, James, John, Bryan, Leila and Toby; and

WHEREAS, Representative Miller has brought much credit to herself and the House of Representatives by her dedication, hard work and steadfast commitment to doing the things that she believed were in the best interest of the people she represents and the people of this state; and

WHEREAS, Representative Miller is highly respected and well-liked by her colleagues and her presence in the House will certainly be missed:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express deep appreciation to Representative Pat Miller for her dedicated service as a member of the House and extend to her our heartiest wishes for success in all her future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Miller and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
